LAKE TROUT in New Jersey?!? Fishing Bladebaits in ULTRA Clear Water
Who knew that a fisherman could catch LAKE TROUT from New Jersey waters? These elusive fish are one of the many species on my bucket list – when I learned of their existence at Round Valley Reservoir, I took the 3.5 hour drive from Maryland and attempted to catch my first one ever!

Location: Round Valley Reservoir, New Jersey
Date: December 3rd, 2016
Primary Pattern: Fishing around the dam in 40 feet of water. Hopping bladebaits or crawling swimbaits on the bottom
Time Fished: 7:00 am – 12:30 pm
Air Temp: High of 43 degrees, low of 36 degrees
Water Temp: 47 degrees (surface)
Water Clarity: 15-18 feet
Conditions: Mostly cloudy with winds from the NW up to 21 mph
